Because of the coronavirus, most places, especially busy areas, have closed down. People should also stay at home or to be at least one to two meters away from each other. When we go out these days, we see fewer people than we used to and some can find this strange, especially in crowded places like New York Times Square.
Craig Karpel and his six years old dog, Farley, finds it strange to see Time Square without the usual crowd of people walking to and fro to their destinations. Since the quarantine began, Farley has been enjoying his walks with his dad in the empty streets to keep them active. Craig said that strolling through the city feels surreal and strange.
As they walk, Craig couldn’t help to take a few shots of Farley in the once crowded streets of New York. The difficulty of getting a good photo without people in it has been eliminated for Craig. He likes taking wonderful pictures of Farley, but he also feels sad seeing his people-loving dog alone in every photo he took.
But for the meantime, to keep him and his dog safe, Craig wouldn’t mind not having people on their photos. Instead, he would take the chance to capture the iconic locations in New York City and make memories with his best bud. Farley looked regal in front of Broadway theaters, Washington Square Park, The Rockefeller Center, and Katz’ Deli.
A first Craig just shared a few of his pup’s photos to some of his friends, but because of their good responses, Craig started making their walks purposeful. He would visit places that were meaningful to him and snap a photo of Farley. The photos of Farley has spread over the internet because of seeing the once crowded places so empty. You can follow Farleys to see more of his walks during coronavirus on his Instagram page.
