When a dog feels comfortable and safe, they become the most loving and adorable companions. This is why we often see drastic changes in rescued dogs once they realize they are safe. There are even cases when senior dogs become as energetic as young dogs after being rescued.
When the stray dog called Mufasa was found by rescuers, he was anxious. It was a natural feeling to have for dogs who have lived alone for a long time. He was unsure if the people who were approaching him were good.
Mufasa refused to eat the food that was given to him. He also didn’t show any interest in approaching his rescuers. That’s why one of them decided to sneak behind him so he could be put on a leash.
When the leash was on him, Mufasa felt confused. However, his mood slowly changed when he was offered food. It also didn’t take long before he accepted touches from his rescuer. Eventually, Mufasa followed his rescuers inside their vehicle and let himself feel at ease.
Once Mufasa got inside the vehicle, he became more welcoming. It was like a switch in his mind had triggered, and he knew everything would be fine. When he got to the rescue shelter, he was promptly given a well-needed bath.
When Mufasa was first found, he looked scruffy. Nowadays, he looks very clean and fluffy, like a true domesticated dog. His appearance is not the only thing that has changed. He’s become as lively as a young pup despite being in his senior years.
An organization called Lionel’s Legacy has found a good home for Mufasa. He’s currently living with a family that loves to pet him endlessly. Mufasa is a good example of how old dogs deserve as much love as any other dog out there.
