Let’s Adopt founder Viktor Larkhill was on his way home when he happened to pass by an empty industrial field. Not too far from the road, he spotted something moving. Curious, he pulled over to investigate.
As Viktor came closer, he realized it was a dog, tied to a post with no water or food. Instantly, he decided to help the poor animal. He untied her and immediately drove her to the animal hospital.
The dog, later on, named Bimba, was all skin and bones. No one knows how long she’s been tethered to that same spot. But her suffering ends now.
A piece of rope connected to a small metal wire kept Bimba prisoner. Because she was unable to scavenge for food or water, she was so thirsty and hungry. Bimba was helpless.
As soon as they arrived at the hospital, staffers gave Bimba something to eat and drink. Later on, they took for a soothing bath. She felt too terrified that she refused to move, not even an inch.
The rescue workers assured Bimba everything is okay. They did everything to keep her comfortable. And once she felt she’s safe, she started to relax.
Bimba spent several weeks adding on some weight. She also worked very hard, overcoming her fears. Soon, she began to enjoy hugs from her newfound friends.
Before long, Let’s Adopt put Bimba up for adoption. A lot of individuals and families expressed interest in her. And before she knew it, the search for her forever home is over.
A friend of Viktor’s who lives in Galicia, Spain, applied to adopt Bimba. Considering she’s taken another rescue dog from Let’s Adopt several months back, Viktor knew she’d be the perfect person to adopt Bimba. She came over, picked Bimba up, and brought her home.
Bimba now lives with a fantastic couple who has an active lifestyle. She goes on a different adventure and plays with her new dog sibling Zeus every day. Greyhounds were originally bred to hunt. But today, Bimba runs not to hunt but to have fun.
