Jada is an 11-year-old dog that had very close ties with her family, especially her dad. She was well-loved and showered with lots of attention. But tragedy struck, and her dad passed away. Her mom, Deborah Warren, was so grief-stricken about the loss of her husband that she struggled to maintain her regular routine.
This included taking care of their beloved pooch. Deborah knew that her depression was affecting everyone around her, including Jada. But there was nothing she could, she was simply overwhelmed by her sorrows.
So she decided to surrender the dog to a shelter located in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana.
Gone
Although she felt that it was a good idea at the start, she regretted her decision eventually. When she got emotionally stable, she tried to get in touch with the shelter and see if she could get Jada back.
Unfortunately, when she made that fateful decision to get the dog back, the shelter had been permanently closed already. Nobody knew where the dogs were sent. Jada was a pit bull mix, and this usually meant that she would have been probably put to sleep.
Deborah and her family truly believed that she was gone, and they were devastated about it.
Crying dog
What they didn’t know is that Jada and several other dogs were taken in by the Northshore Humane Society. Although they knew that it would be very challenging to find the senior dog a new home, they still took a chance with her. They were smitten with her personality, and they felt she deserved to be loved by her own family.
But no matter what they did, they just couldn’t find anyone suitable to adopt him. They regularly shared her photos and videos and even got a news crew to do a story about her.
Then they made a sad video about him. They showed how the dog was so lonely and that she had been crying for almost a year in their shelter. The video definitely touched a lot of people, and it got shared several times over.
Homebound
It eventually was seen by Deborah’s family and they showed the video to her. They were shocked to learn that Jada was still alive. They immediately rushed to the shelter to see her.
When Jada saw them, she quickly got up and ran to her family, tail wagging furiously. She recognized them right away, and she knew that she was finally going home. Everyone was happy to see that the dog is going to be loved once again.
